Microsoft has now launched Copilot for Microsoft 365. This is now generally available for small businesses with Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard Customers and can be purchased between one and 299 seats at £300 per person per year.
Microsoft is also removing the 300-seat purchase minimum and making Copilot available for Office 365 E3 and E5 customers. Copilot can be enabled across your organisation by Strident.
Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 is an AI-powered productivity tool that uses large language models (LLMs) and Microsoft 365 apps (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) to provide real-time intelligent assistance, enabling you to enhance your creativity and productivity.
LLMs are a type of artificial intelligence algorithm that uses deep learning techniques and vast data sets to understand, summarise, predict and generate content. GPT-4 is a well-known LLM model.
Copilot is integrated into the productivity apps to assist user with tasks, some of which may be laborious or some which may need some inspiration.
For example, in Teams, Copilot can summarise up to 30 days of the chat content prior to the last message in a given chat. In Outlook, Copilot can provide suggestions on clarity, sentiment and tone, and suggestions for improvement. In Word, Copilot can generate text with and use other Word files for grounding data.
Microsoft 365 Copilot can analyse the text in your document and provide suggestions. It can also access information from the web and other sources to enrich the document.
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is an add-on plan with the following licensing prerequisites:
