As Microsoft Teams becomes more central to your business communications, Microsoft are continuing to add more features. It is now making end-to-end encryption (E2EE) available for one-to-one calls where both the caller and recipient have the feature enabled.
E2EE encrypts and decrypts the call data on the devices before it is transmitted. This means that even if the call was intercepted, a third party would not be able to listen to the call. Businesses will have full control over who in their organisation can use the E2EE capability.
"Online security and privacy are important issues. There may be times when travelling or working off an unknown network that you want that extra peace-of-mind to know that your call cannot be monitored," adds Chris Joberns, Managing Director at Strident. "If data can be encrypted on the device before being sent, it makes it very hard for third parties to access that information."
Microsoft intends to bring E2EE capability to online meetings too at a later date. As Microsoft Gold Partners, Strident have proven expertise in delivering a modern flexible working IT infrastructure for your business. To find out more, contact us on 01473 835 280.
