Windows Autopilot configures your new device fast

Moving to a new device can be a daunting process with many users, and businesses, sticking with older machines because of the hassle and downtime involved in moving. This is especially true in a remote working environment, where home working or overseas colleagues are physically separated from the main business.

Windows Autopilot is a collection of technologies used to set up and configure your new device and get it ready for work just like your old one. Strident can also use Windows Autopilot to reset, repurpose, and recover devices.

Windows 10 has Autopilot built-in

The functionality for Autopilot is already built into Windows 10 so, even if you purchase a brand-new PC from your hardware provider and have it delivered directly to home, all you need to do is connect your device to the Internet. Windows 10 will check the device ID against the Windows Autopilot deployment service and then begin configuring the device to your organisation's specifications. Existing Window 10 devices can also be registered with Autopilot manually (Strident can help you with this), which is a great way to reset and repurpose a device for another user.

Once the device has contacted Windows Autopilot, the device is setup automatically as if it were being configured in-house by Strident. You can have a business-wide configuration or even one specific to one user!

The user's profile, Office applications, network and data permissions, device registration with InTune and all your business's security policies are all automatically configured without the user's intervention, so you can be confident that the device is deployed to your business standards. In turn, your colleagues get a new device ready to work with minimal downtime and technical involvement.
