Microsoft 365 Business Voice is the next level up from Microsoft 365 Business and adds a phone system that integrates with Office 365.
"Microsoft is creating great software bundles for small and medium-sized businesses that want productivity, security and communication tools in one easy-to-deploy package," explains Chris Joberns, managing director at Strident.
"Microsoft 365 Business Voice can be subscribed to on a month-by-month basis, allowing businesses to easily scale up and down as required, without long term commitment."
Microsoft 365 Business Voice is a cloud-based phone system that integrates into Office 365. Using Microsoft Teams, it gives you calling, chat and meetings in a single app. Your contacts and calendar are connected across Teams and Outlook and you can collaborate with colleagues and customers by using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint within calls and meetings.
Smith & Co Solicitors transitioned to Teams in the summer 2019 in order to be cloud based. "Once everyone was familiar with it, we enabled the calls function and I am glad we took it a step at a time," says Vicky Hosking, Managing Partner at Smith & Co Solicitors.
"We have now been using calls for 3-4 weeks with very little drama as everyone was so used to Teams and the chat function anyway, it was a natural progression. There is more flexibility in terms of diverting your phone if you are in a meeting with colleagues, or even changing your voicemail for a short period. You can easily switch back to your every day, personalised one.
"Phone numbers can be stored, although this has been a more manual process largely due to an IT issue with the legal case management system we use. I like getting an email with a transcript of the voicemail which is often a cause for hilarity as the voice recognition is not quite there yet!
"The new package for SMEs has resulted in a cost saving for us, which is always good."
