Our road to ISO27001

We always strive for best working practices and we've completed the first of two stages in our ISO27001 accreditation.

Data management and security are hot topics, with frequent press stories highlighting both traditional malicious attacks and also inappropriate collection and misuse of personal data.

In order to support our customers to the fullest extent and give them even greater confidence in the work we do, Strident has embarked on its ISO 27001 accreditation.

"Achieving ISO accreditation will highlight the professional approach we take with our customers and their data. Having gone through the process, we are able to better advise our customers on the administrative processes involved as well as the technical security that we've always excelled at," explains Chris Joberns, managing director.

"As we and our customers are becoming required to work to stricter data management guidelines, with the upcoming requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the UK Data Protection Bill, it made sense to adopt the gold standard in information security management, ISO 27001."

ISO 27001 is the international standard that describes best practice for an information security management system. This is a framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation's information risk management processes. The International Standards Organisation states it was developed to "provide a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an information security management system."

We have completed the first stage of accreditation with a full a rigorous documentation of all our processes. The second stage is a detailed audit by the International Standards Organisation to ensure we are following the processes laid out in stage one. We hope to complete accreditation by April 2018.
