As Skype for Business becomes more deeply integrated into the Office 365 suite, Strident is now looking to use it to help support its customers.
Providing outstanding IT support is the core service at Strident and being able to provide customers with fast and effective solutions is essential. Currently support issues are raised with our Helpdesk team via email or a phone call but messaging through Skype for Business could soon be added to the options.
"Most of our customers are already using Office 365 for email and creating and sharing documents. One of the key advantages of the Office 365 suite is that it is constantly developing and providing new features and benefits for customers to take advantage of," explains Chris Joberns, managing director at Strident. "Applications such as Teams and Skype for Business are now available to Office 365 customers and provide impressive internal and external communications tools."
Skype for Business is available for free to Strident's Office 365 customers. "Skype to Skype calls are free and, with the added benefits of messaging and files sharing, it will be great tool to help support our customers. Using Skype we can quickly provide updates on IT issues, use screenshots to help diagnose issues and provide feedback. In addition, by subscribing to our IT Support channel in Teams, we can quickly and conveniently provide customers with alerts on general IT issues such as malware and virus attacks," adds Chris.
The Helpdesk team of 9 Microsoft-certified engineers already uses SAMS, our advanced monitoring system installed on all Strident-supported PCs and servers. This enables us to check customer systems securely, quickly and remotely to ensure there are no issues. Skype would provide another proactive tool to help keep customers secure and productive.
"We pride ourselves on a professional yet friendly service and messaging will certainly not replace phone calls. However, with messaging, file sharing and voice calls now available in one place via Skype for Business, it will become a great tool for supporting our customers."
